Robert Strohmaier was born in Chicago, Illinois, though spent his “wonder years” in the sleepy New England town of Somerset, Massachusetts. Growing up with a love of rock and roll music, he became intrigued by the more theatrical performances which led to a love of theatre.
 

Robert received his BFA degree in Theatre Design from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, then continued on to New York University’s Masters Program for Theatre Design.
 

Venturing to Los Angeles, California in 1986, Robert’s career in television began, first as an Assistant Art Director then Art Director, then Production Designer, working on many multi-camera series such as Who’s the Boss? and Mad About You. He has been honored with two Art Director’s Guild Award nominations as Production Designer for the series, Life with Bonnie, starring Bonnie Hunt.
 

Segue to film and one-hour drama series, where Robert continues to hone his craft in design details to create the “bigger picture” of the visual story.
